Baltimore Branding & Web Design Studio
If you're searching for a Baltimore branding agency, you're probably comparing a handful of studios and trying to figure out which one actually does the work. We're Duo Studio. Here's who we are.
Who We Are
Duo Studio was founded in 2020 in Baltimore, Maryland. The name is simple: design and development. Most agencies do one well. We built Duo because the work gets better when they're in the same room.
We're a boutique studio of about eight people. The people you meet in the pitch are the people building your brand — not a senior team that hands off to juniors after you sign. Small enough to know your project deeply. Experienced enough that the work holds up against anyone in the country.
Since 2020, we've partnered with companies in manufacturing, fintech, nonprofit, travel, real estate, and more. Our clients share a common thread: they're serious about their brand and they know that a thoughtful investment in design pays for itself.
What We Do
Duo Studio is a full-service Baltimore web design and branding studio. Our core capabilities span the full lifecycle of a brand — from the foundational strategy work to the live website and beyond.
- Brand Strategy — We start with research. Competitive audits, audience analysis, positioning frameworks. Strategy is the foundation every other decision is built on.
- Identity Design — Logo systems, typography, color, iconography, and brand guidelines that hold together across every touchpoint.
- Web Design — Custom interfaces designed for your specific audience, business goals, and brand personality. No templates, ever.
- Web Development — We build on modern stacks — typically Next.js with headless WordPress or Sanity.io, deployed to Vercel or Netlify. The sites we build are fast, secure, and built to grow with you.
- Content Systems — From copywriting frameworks to structured content models, we help you think through how your brand communicates — not just how it looks.
The strategy-first part isn't a tagline. It's a requirement. We don't open Figma until we understand your audience, your competitive landscape, and what makes you worth choosing. Design without strategy is decoration.
Who We Work With
We work with a specific kind of client — and knowing who that is helps you figure out quickly whether we're a good fit.
We're not the right studio for a startup looking to spend a few hundred dollars on a logo. We're also not the right fit for a large enterprise with an in-house creative team and a six-month procurement process. We work with the businesses in between: established companies that have outgrown their current brand and are ready for the next chapter.
Maybe you launched five years ago with a brand that was good enough to get started, but you've grown — in revenue, in team, in ambition — and your visual identity no longer reflects who you actually are. Maybe your website was built on a template that's now holding back your sales conversations. Maybe you're entering a new market and you know your current brand won't cut it there.
That's our client. The company that's already proven the business model and is ready to invest in how they present it to the world. Not sure if that's where you are? Here are 7 signs it might be time to rebrand. Typical engagements at Duo start at $30,000 for a combined strategy, brand, and website project — because that's what it takes to do this kind of work properly. For a transparent breakdown of what drives those numbers, see our guide to rebrand costs in 2026.
Our Approach
We've refined our process over five years and dozens of projects across industries. It's collaborative, research-driven, and built around custom solutions — not templated shortcuts.
Every engagement starts with a discovery phase: structured workshops with your leadership team, a competitive audit of your market, and a deep dive into your audience. We're asking questions most designers never think to ask: What does your best customer already believe? What objections come up in your sales conversations? Where does your current brand break down?
From there, the strategy work shapes everything that follows. Brand positioning, messaging architecture, visual direction — all of it flows from what we learned in discovery, not from what happens to be trending on Dribbble this month.
On the web side, we build everything from scratch. No page builders, no generic WordPress themes, no visual templates repurposed from another client's project. Your site is scoped, designed, and developed for your business specifically. That means faster load times, cleaner code, and a CMS that's actually built around how your team manages content — not whatever the default settings happen to be.
The result is a brand and a website that feels like you — not like a version of you that was squeezed into someone else's mold.
Our Work
Here's a look at a few recent projects.
Genimex — Manufacturing
Genimex manufactures products for some of the most recognized consumer brands in the world — but their site read like a mid-tier supplier. The redesign had to signal enterprise credibility to buyers who operate at a global scale. That meant stripping away anything that looked improvised: tighter typography, cleaner information architecture, case studies that showed the complexity of their manufacturing capability rather than listing it. The visual system had to work in both English and Mandarin contexts without losing its authority.
Finturity — Fintech
Finturity is a female-led fintech company entering a market where most competitors look identical — conservative navy palettes, stock photography of boardrooms, language designed not to offend. We rejected all of it. The brand needed to feel credible without feeling conventional. That meant a visual language built around precision and confidence rather than tradition — sharp typography, a palette that felt modern without being trendy, and a tone that spoke directly to founders rather than deferring to them.
Amparo — Nonprofit
Amparo's homepage had been leading with organizational history and program descriptions — the kind of content that satisfies grant writers and loses everyone else. We restructured the homepage to lead with program participants: real faces, short stories, immediate stakes. The program data came second, reframed as evidence of what those stories meant. The structural change was simple. The effect on how quickly visitors understood the organization's work was not.
Africa Dream Safaris — Travel
Africa Dream Safaris curates high-end safari experiences — the kind that take two years of saving and one conversation with the right guide to pull off. The site had to earn that trust visually before anyone read a word. That meant treating every image choice as an editorial decision, not a placeholder: the right light, the right moment, the sense of being somewhere specific rather than generically beautiful. Typography that felt considered rather than decorative. A booking flow that felt calm, not transactional.
Where We Work
We're based in Baltimore. For local clients, that means we can meet in person, we know the professional ecosystem, and we understand the particular culture of Baltimore's business community — founder-driven companies, strong networks, clients who value a direct conversation over a polished pitch. That's well-suited to how we work.
But geography doesn't define the work. Our process runs remote-first by design, and some of our strongest client relationships have been with teams we've never met in person. Discovery workshops happen over video, feedback is asynchronous, and the output is the same either way.
Recognition
We've been recognized by Awwwards for web design excellence and listed on DesignRush as a top branding and web design agency. We mention this not to lead with accolades — awards don't pay your clients' bills — but because external validation matters when you're evaluating a studio for a serious investment. The work has been recognized by people who look at a lot of work.
FAQ
How much does it cost to work with Duo Studio?
Our engagements typically start at $30,000 for a combined brand strategy, identity design, and custom website project. Scope varies — some projects are larger, some are more focused. We're transparent about pricing early in the process, so there are no surprises. If you're looking for the cheapest option, we're probably not the right fit. If you're looking for the option most likely to actually move the needle for your business, let's talk.
Do you work with clients outside of Baltimore?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Our process is remote-first by design — we've worked with clients across the U.S. from our Baltimore studio. Discovery workshops, design reviews, and feedback cycles all happen over video and async collaboration tools. Being local is a nice-to-have, not a requirement.
What industries do you specialize in?
We don't limit ourselves to a single vertical. Our portfolio spans manufacturing, fintech, nonprofit, travel, real estate, healthcare, and more. What ties our clients together isn't the industry — it's where they are in their business journey. Established, growing, and ready to invest in their brand seriously.
How long does a typical project take?
A full brand and website engagement typically runs 12 to 20 weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on scope. Brand-only projects can move faster. Larger websites with complex functionality take more time. We'll give you a realistic timeline during our initial conversations — and we stick to it. Scope creep and missed deadlines are a choice, not an inevitability.
Let's Talk

If you've read this far, you probably have a sense of whether Duo Studio is what you're looking for. We take the work seriously, invest in understanding your business before touching a design tool, and build everything custom.
We work with a limited number of clients at a time — enough that the work stays good, not so many that it gets managed from a distance.
If you're ready to talk through what a project might look like, reach out. We'll ask good questions, give you a straight answer on fit and budget, and take it from there.
