Turning a content-heavy safari website into a guided experience

Our Objective

Africa Dream Safaris curates custom, high-end safari experiences across Tanzania, offering deep expertise across regions, lodges, wildlife, seasons, and travel planning.

We partnered with the Africa Dream Safaris team to rethink their existing website into a clear, modular, and highly visual experience. We reorganized the site architecture to bring structure to a large volume of content, creating an interactive safari encyclopedia that supports exploration while guiding users toward booking. Alongside content and structure, we refined the inquiry and booking flow to support a once-in-a-lifetime purchase, balancing practical planning with storytelling that sells the safari experience.

Establishing a Digital Brand System Around the Safari Experience

Digital Brand Exploration

We refreshed Africa Dream Safaris’ digital brand by prioritizing videography and photography across the site, using the safari itself as the visual foundation.

Working from the existing logo, we rebuilt the surrounding visual system, introducing a palette inspired by the safari landscape with warm sunset tones, deep greens, natural tans, and darks for contrast. Subtle textures, map lines, and silhouettes of Tanzania reference travel throughout the site, while an elegant serif typeface adds refinement suited to a high-end safari.

Designing Structure for a Content-Heavy Safari Experience

Site Architecture & Navigation

Africa Dream Safaris offers a large volume of content across safari types, regions, travel guidance, and planning resources. The website needed a clearer structure to help visitors understand their safari options before booking.

We worked closely with the Africa Dream Safaris team to reorganize the site from the ground up, using sitemaps and wireframes to rethink navigation, page groupings, and dropdown structure. Informational content was consolidated into clear categories like “Our Safaris” and “Resources”, creating a more intuitive flow through the site. Throughout the process, we built credibility into key moments with awards, testimonials, and real-world proof, supporting confident decision-making for a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Designing a Modular, Story-Driven Web Experience

Flexible Development & Content Management

We designed the Africa Dream Safaris website to support a large, content-rich site. Custom-designed modules house a wide range of content, with each section structured to match its unique story and informational needs.

To make long-form content more engaging, we incorporated interactive marquee imagery and subtle parallax effects. Large editorial headlines and immersive videography lead each section, telling the safari’s story while guiding visitors through detailed content.

Custom WordPress CMS & Flexible Development

The site was developed using a custom WordPress CMS designed to support a large volume of structured content. We built a centralized content library to house regions, lodges, and related information, making it easy to manage and reuse content across the site.

On the backend, we prioritized flexibility without adding complexity. Editors can adjust visual options such as light or dark navigation themes, choose between higher- or lower-impact headers, and select between hosted video files or YouTube embeds based on the needs of each page. Site performance was considered throughout development, keeping page loads fast even with a large amount of content.
