Maryland Film Festival
2024 - 26
The Maryland Film Festival is Baltimore's annual film festival, presented by the SNF Parkway Theatre. As a yearly partner since 2024, we lead the brand for each festival and build the website around it. Each year that means a new festival look, collateral for print and screen, and a custom website that evolves with the programming.

A yearly partnership supporting the Maryland Film Festival as it grows beyond film.

The Challenge
The Maryland Film Festival set out to be more than a film festival, expanding its programming into CineTech, nightlife, LGBTQ+ events, shorts and filmmaker programs. That growth called for a brand that could work across every program. Before our partnership, the festival's materials lacked a consistent system. The team needed a reusable brand system, editable templates and a website that could support each new edition and make ticket booking straightforward.

Brand System & Web Templates
The 2024 Maryland Film Festival marked the festival's 25th anniversary, and MdFF wanted the milestone to feel bigger and different from past years. It was the first year the festival introduced programming beyond film, including CineTech, nightlife, Pride and LGBTQ+ events, and filmmaker programs. We worked with the MdFF team to brand the festival as more than a film festival, giving each new program its own color scheme and graphic style within the main brand.
This was also the year we built the festival’s custom WordPress website, designed to be updated and reused for each new edition. Editable modules let the MdFF team build new pages and update festival information on their own, while interactive sliders and parallax cards present each program alongside its schedule and tickets.

Key Artwork & Ticketing Integration
The 2025 Maryland Film Festival moved to the fall, and this was the year we created the festival's key artwork along with the brand direction. Set around the Parkway and its neighborhood, the illustrated artwork celebrates the festival's audience over the years, from longtime film buffs to a growing, more diverse community of festivalgoers. We rolled it out across print and web collateral, including passes, posters, ads and social.
The website carried forward our 2024 template with the new artwork, and we connected it to Eventive so audiences could buy passes and tickets directly from the festival pages. We also expanded the editable systems, adding Canva templates so the MdFF team could create new assets throughout the festival.

Art Direction & Collateral
For 2026, we led the festival's art direction, setting a collage-based route built from halftone photography, cut-out objects, torn paper and hand-drawn shapes. We created the key artwork in collaboration with the festival's creative partners and delivered a brand package with new colors, fonts and backgrounds.
Using the templates from previous years, we produced a wide range of collateral, including passes, posters, schedules, ads, t-shirts and merch, along with new templates for the MdFF team. The 2026 website was built on the same template, updated throughout with the new art direction.

“You have no idea how much positive feedback we got on the website. I think the website was the highlight of the festival!!! You all did an AMAZING job. THANK YOU.”

These photos below come from the festival itself, taken at the SNF Parkway across the years we've worked with MdFF. Volunteers wear festival t-shirts, attendees carry MdFF tote bags, and printed schedules, theater signage and wayfinding guide audiences through the building. These festival materials use the same brand system as the website, so the experience feels connected whether someone is buying a pass online or standing in the lobby.
